Site Decommission Audit
I developed a comprehensive decommission audit for a website identified for divestment by company leadership. This audit was designed to be adaptable for use on additional sites that may undergo decommissioning in the future, streamlining the process and enhancing overall efficiency. The audit included:
- Meta Description Analysis: Ensured all meta descriptions were optimized.
- Heading Structure Evaluation: Reviewed and improved heading hierarchy for clarity and accessibility.
- Link Integrity Checks: Identified (using ScreamingFrog) and removed 404 and 410 internal and external links.
- Accessibility Enhancements: Addressed design issues related to color contrast, font size, and overal accessibility.
- Hero Section Review: Addressed the accuracy of hero elements (author, date published, table of contents, image and image description)
- Ad Verification: Confirmed the correctness of all advertising content.
- Top Navigation Checks: Audited all links in the top navigation to ensure they directed users to correct destinations.
Hub pages
I redesigned hub pages for AccreditedSchoolsOnline. These pages were landing pages that helped with site structure and navigation.
State Ranking Pages
I worked with editors to create state ranking templates for two sites- AffordableCollegesOnline and AccreditedSchoolsOnline. The templates helped to keep the content consistent, clean, and accessible.
