Hi there! I’m Kara, a jack of many trades, collector of hobbies, and always eager to learn something new.

I’ve spent 4+ years in website publishing and tech. My experience includes everything from daily publishing of web pages to site audits to QA for redesigns and site technology migrations. My journey has allowed me to develop skills in SEO, website accessibility, website management, and cross-functional communication and teamwork.

I also have a background in community and youth education and college recruitment having past lives as a 4-H Extension Educator in Wisconsin and a student recruiter at Penn State. Through those experiences, I developed skills in event and program management, digital communications, volunteer organizing and management, public speaking, program evaluation, and social media management.

Outside of work, I collect hobbies- meaning I love to try new things and learn something new. My craftier hobbies include sewing, watercoloring, quilling, scrapbooking, and working on my bullet journal. My more adventurous hobbies include biking, hiking, and taking courses like French and improv. My most relaxing hobbies include reading, making videos of favorite memories and trips, and watching YouTube channels about architecture, interior design, and archaeology. A foundational belief of mine is that curiosity drives growth. I always strive to step outside my comfort zone.

I plan to use this blog as a journal of sorts to document my thoughts and experiences as I navigate new chapters in both my professional and personal life. I aim to post weekly, so tune in to see what adventures I get into next.
